Hey Everyone,
How are your boxes coming along? What types of pictures or items did you place in your box? I know that I have been writing experiences that I would like to manifest in my life, along with some inspiring nature pictures.
For this year, I plan on having a fun, relaxing, and productive school year. Therefore, I placed items in the box that have made me excited about the upcoming school year, such as requests for lesson plans, ways to help my students learn, and for this year to bring joy and inner peace to my students, myself, and for my fellow faculty members. It’s amazing what I have encountered using this exercise.
For example, I recently went to clean out my classroom. As I walked into the room, some of my fellow faculty members left me some great materials to use for the school year! I was truly amazed on how this manifested into my experience! In my room there were reading books, banners, and social studies materials that I could use for my class! Although I might not have asked for these specific items, I am a firm believer that the Law of Attraction was able to provide these items as the first step for a successful school year.
Yes, I realize that some invisible force didn’t put these materials on my desk. However, I am a firm believer that if you want something, and if you can feel and think positively about it, your desires will somehow come to you.
Now, you can spend all day and night, placing random things in your box! Now here comes the next step for making manifestation a reality: Pretend that your desires and dreams have already come true or as if they are coming true.
Wait a minute……. what is wrong with this guy? What is he talking about? Has he lost his mind? Pretend? How old are we? As you might remember from my last post, I mentioned how as we grow older, we sometimes loose our ability to use your imagination.
Am I tell you to verbally tell everyone that your dreams have come true, that you meet prince charming, traveled around the world?….. Hell No! What I am asking you to do is to attempt to start feeling the emotions as if you have already accomplished your goals! As I read in “The Secret”, (also another great book about the Law of Attraction), you have to declare your goals through your emotions. Basically each day you have to feel determined that your goals will come true. The hard part is that we begin to think about all the details that of how this will happen. That will unfold in time. Let me give you a scenario.
Meet Johnny. Johnny is in high school and is unsure of what he wants to do with his life. To ease his uncertainty, he declares emotionally and mentally that he is going to find his purpose in life. Although Johnny has no idea what route he will take to do this, by the law of attraction, clues in his life will begin to appear such as teachers recommending him to career counselors, or he will meet people who share similar interests with him, or maybe he will receive some scholarships to different schools. Yes, I am sure Johnny will have some doubt time to time, however, if his emotional and mental state is predominantly fixated on his goal than he will find what he is looking for.
The main message that I am trying to get across in this blog is that in order to achieve your dreams two things are necessary: 1) sitting down and identifying what you want (such as what you did with the box activity and 2) each day do your best to act as if your desires have come true and expect them to.
That is it for now! Until next time, KEEP DREAMING!

Passion: It Does a Life Good!
Damn! It has been awhile since my last post! I hope that everyone is doing well! I know I am! Well first and foremost I feel great: I am healthy, mentally prepared, and ready to rock and roll!
Well what has happened since my last post? Well I have completed my first year of teaching! I can't believe it! I enjoyed the students, parents, and faculty, that I had the pleasure of working with! Also, I have done a little bit of traveling, such as making my first trip to Montreal! Now that is one hell of a city! I have also been traveling to Martha's Vineyard to see my girlfriend. I have to say, this one of the best summer vacations I have had in quite some time. Also, I might be checking going to FL next month! All of these great events wouldn't have been able to take place if I didn't have a little something called passion.
Now what does the word passion mean to you? The word could be associated with a strong desire of completing a goal, a strong feeling felt in a romantic relationship or encounter, or perhaps loving what you do so much, that you eat, live, and breath it. Well , the beauty of all of these answers is that they are all correct. Passion can be very hard to describe on a verbal bases. However, if we see it in action , whether it be watching Kevin Garnett cry after the Celtics won the NBA title! , ( sorry the Celtics fan inside of me was begging for me to mention this), a mother holding her newborn child, or even watching a child play. All these events display passion. Having passion makes all the difference between having the job of your dreams, or settling for a job that is not as exciting. Basically, you can't make the damn cake with out the eggs!
The beauty about passion is that we all have it. Each living thing on this earth has desires, wants, and goals. Every time we think about them , we smile, it makes us want to work harder, most importantly, it uplifts our feelings. This is very important; how we feel during our day to day lives, eventually manifests will eventually manifest in our lives.
Now for the next few weeks, I am challenging you to focus on everything you want in life. I want you to have fun with this! Just picture yourself as a kid in a candy or toy store and mom just gave you her whole pay check to spend! I want you to really think about how you want every aspect in your life to be, whether it be your health, financial status, love life, job situation, how do you want it to be? Really think about it.
Now here is this activity I want you to try. Look for any type of box, don't worry about the size or width of it. This is going to be your dream box! I want you to find pictures of things you love, whether it be a fancy house, a body type that you want, or a symbols that make you happy, just find them and put them in your box! Also, if you want to write about a particular experience that would like to be a part of , such as receiving a free lunch or winning a few bucks from a scratch ticket, than put it in the box! Also, do your best to stay positive on what you are putting in your box and not think about how unrealistic something is. The main thing that I am trying to have you do is discover your desires, which will ultimately lead to your passion! I am trying to help you expand your imagination, to the equivalent of how you used it during your childhood. Unfortunately, as humans get older, we sometimes lose our imagination! If we don't have that, it makes our dreams ten times harder to manifest! So get to work on those boxes and dream big!
Note: I found this idea from Jerry and Esther Hick's book, Ask and It Is Given. Great Book, highly recommend it!

The Law of Attraction? Be grateful for it!
Hey Everyone! I hope all is well! I am having a great day! Although its cold outside, I can feel spring in the air! I can't wait to be outside playing ball , going for a walk, and or and drive with the windows open. I can't help but get pumped about this season! :)
Anyway, back to my topic for today! I would like to introduce you the the idea of the Law of Attraction! The Law of Attraction is the idea that what we think and feel about, we attract into out lives whether it be positive or negative events. When I first learned about this theory, I was puzzled. I asked myself, can thoughts be that powerful? This was not an easy question to ask. In order to answer this question, I had to face what I liked and what I needed to change in my life. After pondering for several days, I came to several conclusions: 1) My relationship with friends and family members have been successful because of my positive attitude and thoughts about them, 2) I was able to earn a teaching job based by having a clear vision of myself having the job, even before being hired, 3) and the stress that I was feeling during the the end of 2007 - 2008 was caused by me, not just the events and people that I felt were contributing my aggravation.
The third reality was a hard pill for me to swallow. For the longest time, I blamed other people and circumstances for my "personal slump." However, after reading The Secret and learning about the teachings of Abraham and Hicks, I recapped the events that went on from 2007-2008. As I remembered these events, I focused on what my mentality was like during those times, which it was not as positive as I would of liked it to be. Every mistake I made was just a chain reaction for another one to happen. I felt like I was always in a lose/lose situation no matter what I did. How could I face the real world after my last semester of college? Yes, I received my degree from this experience, but at the same time I was concerned about facing this amount of stress again in my life.
A few months after I graduated from college, I was able to move out and start working full time. Although I was enjoying my new place and my new job, I still felt a sense of insecurity. I was so afraid that I was going to fail at my job. However, as the months went by, I decided to do some research on how to control my stress. I studied the importance of positive thinking and its long term health benefits.
One positive thinking exercise that changed my life was to list 5 positive things that you liked about your day. Believe it or not, the more grateful you are for the little things in you life, the more the bigger things will start to show up in your life as well. It could be as something small as being grateful for the peanut butter and jelly sandwich you ate or something like a productive day at work! Try it! I am challenging you to post 5 things you are grateful for each day on my blog, and I promise you things are going to start to change for you! This is my personal challenge to you and I hope you plan on taking it! I promise you that you won't regret this! In order to attract the things you want more in your life, the first step is be to be grateful for those things that you already have. Here is my list for the day! 1) I was able to wake up and have my feet touch the ground 2) I was able to help my students learn! 3) I enjoyed my coworkers 's sense of humor! 4) I enjoyed my supper tonight 5) I am pumped about getting free Bruin tickets for this Saturday! Now this is the first exercise I want you to try! Start typing! - Dave :)
